Why I Should Become A Nurse - 1214 Words
Every person has their dream of how their life will play out. For years I have wondered where life will take me in the future. Abraham Lincoln once said, The best way to predict your future is to create it.â⬠Success is not easily obtained and often takes a great deal of time; however in my eyes, success is the key to my future. I have plans to become a registered nurse, live in Franklin, Tennessee, and spend my free time making memories with my family. Over the course of the past three years, I have spent an abundance of time in and out of the hospital between different family members and clinicals for health science, a class exploring the medical field. Once I complete nursing school I will need to find a hospital that I would like to be employed at. It has always been part of my plan to move to a new place after college, a place far enough away yet close enough to home. I have always enjoyed visiting Tennessee. The atmosphere is satisfying and the environment is simply beautiful. I plan to move to Franklin, Tennessee and work at the local hospital, Williamson Medical Center. The average salary for a registered nurse is around $65,000 a year; although, the pay for a nurse in Franklin is slightly below average at $62,000 a year for a nurse just beginning their career (Thomas). The need for nurses is extremely high which causes them to work long hours, so they work hard for the pay they receive. ââ¬Å"I tend to work ten to twelve hour shifts and we are usually shorthanded with nurses,â⬠says Thomas. During my interview with Megan Thomas, I realized that working at Williamson Medical Center will be just like any other hospital as far as working long hours. During my free time away from working at Williamson Medical Center, I plan to be spend time doing things in the community.
